What is BROADBAND ?

Defining broadband can get complicated. There are many different takes on how to actually define the word: broadband.

DEFINITION 1
The first and most obvious way to define it is a transmission medium that allows for multiple pathways and types of data, far exceeding simple voice communication devices. Simply, put it is the ability to access a variety of data through one connection at a reasonable speed.

DEFINITION 2
This refers to high-speed data transmission in which a single cable can carry a large amount of data at once.

DEFINITION 3
The term broadband commonly refers to high-speed Internet access. It also defines as data transmission speeds exceeding 200 kilobits per second (Kbps), or 200,000 bits per second, in at least one direction: downstream (from the Internet to the user’s computer) or upstream (from the user’s computer to the Internet).
